Meet UsNorfolk, VA: Two of Hampton Roads’ most successful business interior companies have merged to create a new breed of company focused exclusively on business environments. With a strategic focus on developing a new company that exceeds all expectations, PC&A combines collaboration and tactical planning with innovation into one extraordinary business design resource.

While award-winning interiors are the trademark of the new PC&A, it is not just beautiful design that sets this company apart. The combined talents of its design principals provide a repertoire unlike any other business interior design company in the market. Partners Susan Pilato, Donna Counts and Kandi Arrington bring innovation and a list of highly specialized services together into one company. “The time is right for this merger,” says Susan Pilato. “Our design principles, styles and work philosophies are very similar and now with our combined resources and expertise, the company is well positioned for expansion.”

While much of the talent as a company is in design, the specialized services it offers definitely set it apart. Protecting a company’s interior design investment through facility planning and management services help maintain the look, consistency, function and efficiency of a company’s interior spaces. PC&A also provides assurance that workspaces are not only beautiful and functional, but meet the rigorous code and safety regulations of today’s marketplace through certified “life-safety” and ADA compliant environs. For businesses interested high productivity and lower incidence of worker injury, PC&A’s knowledge and experience in ergonomically designed interiors are another hallmark. Providing adaptable workspace solutions as an Inscape Systems℠ dealership ensures that workspaces are designed to the highest degree of efficiency and effectiveness.

About the Principals

With careers spanning over three decades, the principals of PC&A bring a history of design experience to this new collaboration. Kandi Arrington began her design career in business interior design at Standard Office Supply. It was there she met her husband Sam. In 1990, the Arringtons began their own company, Arrington Commercial Interiors, which grew from its original two founders to include a dedicated group of interior designers, sales executives, project managers, installers and project assistants. A few years later, Susan Pilato and Donna Counts were both at Chasen’s Business Interiors. With their backgrounds in interior design with a focus on business interiors, the two left to start their own company. Since 1992, Pilato and Counts, and their team of professionals, have built a reputation for creating spaces that transform.
